Our Ales

The “Glenfinnan Standard Ale” this is a mid brown, well hopped (bitter) ale with an ABV of 4.3%.  It uses a selection of North American aromatic hops and British Pale and Crystal malts to give it a distinctive “nose” and taste.

The name “Standard Ale” commemorates Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie) raising the Jacobite Standard at Glenfinnan on 19 August 1745.

The “Glenfinnan Gold Ale” this is golden brown moderately hopped (bitter) ale with an ABV of 4.0%.  It uses a combination of Pale, Lager, Wheat and Crystal malts along with a variety of European and North American hops to give it a distinctive flavour.

The name “Gold Ale” reflects both its colour and the £4,000 (present value many millions of £) of gold that went missing near Glenfinnan during the Jacobite rebellion of 1745 – 1746.

The “Glenfinnan Light Ale” this is a less alcoholic version of our Standard Ale with an ABV of only 3.3%.
